DIY Colorblock Succulent Favors
Did you know Afloral has flowers + plants beyond their silk counterparts? Well, these live mini succulent favors had us at aloe. And we thought, what a perfect party favor that’s made to last. So sticking with the playful colorblock theme we’ve been seeing on the rise, we put together a quick and easy DIY that’ll make your heart pop! (You’ll soon see why).
Let’s face it, everybody needs a little greenery on the daily. And you don’t have to possess a magic green thumb to make these petite gifts come to life. These favors speak for themselves with the cuteness factor, but if you wanted to create a whole display with succulent puns, we say full speed ahead! “Aloe you very much.” “Succa for you.” “I’d prick you every time.” “I’ll never desert you.” We wish you luck as you embark on this pun journey.
We’re loving the dynamic look these favors have as a collective whole – with the smooth texture on the sparkly mercury glass, sprouting with varying types of plants by season. Hooked? Okay, let’s get down to business. The recipe is simple as can be, with just a handful of items – a few you probably already have at home!
What you’ll need:
Succulent Collection in Green
Gold Mercury Glass Votive
12″ latex balloons
Scissors
To create the sharp pop of color, we used colorful latex balloons, making a cut at the stem and a little from the top so that you can wrap around the votive (almost like a tea cozy!) No exact science or measurements necessary for this part – in fact, we love the idea of varying color heights on these.
Next, repot each mini succulent into the new mercury votive, removing soil and roots as necessary to fit. Simply clean up the excess soil from your workspace, and that’s it! You’re all done. Told ya this was easy peasy.
