Costa Rica Destination Wedding with Ultra Sweet Centerpieces
The couple celebrated their 10 year dating anniversary with a wedding and we honestly can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate! With the cutest outdoor church ceremony in Costa Rica adorned in eucalyptus, delicate white florals and succulents this elegant wedding planned by Simply Perfect is the perfect warm weather wedding inspo. Oh and don’t even get us started on the most perfect centerpieces: wedding cake! Instead of floral centerpieces, the couple had approximately 20 wedding cakes, one at each table so you can truly have your cake and eat it too! From the wedding planner, Simply Perfect: We love to planned this amazing wedding!! Fun fact: the date of the wedding was the 10th anniversary for the couple, so it was a a very special moment for a double celebration! The first thing that Mariana (the bride) told us was that she wanted some cool centerpieces with only a few flowers. Challenge accepted! What about having some sweet and flowers? Cakes and flowers was the perfect match that made this bride dreamed color palette came alive!
From the bride: The best day of our lives! Through all the process we felt real love from our family and friends, but that day we experienced it more and more. We didn’t stop dancing and smiling, everything was perfect. People said they felt real love that day because of all the little but meaningful details we planned. This was a wedding planned not only for us, but for all the people that surround us and in some way have been part of our lives. We felt really grateful.
Jose & I met at high school parties, we shared same friends. We’ve been together for 10 years. Actually we celebrated our 10th anniversary the same day of our wedding. about the proposal, we took a ride on a yacht to celebrate our 9th anniversary, and he proposed at dawn, the view was wonderful. Everything was perfect.
We are part of the Movement of Schoenstatt Costa Rica (Catholic Marian Movement), so we wanted to get married in Costa Rica’s Sanctuary. We also wanted to be in an open space place, because we were on summer, that is what made us decide to get married there. It takes a 1 year to plan the wedding and we splurge mostly in the ceremony because we wanted to have a lot of surprises for our guests, such as: games, great drinks, special food, plants as gifts, the best party with a show and cool stuff, delicious cake centerpieces, etc.
Our color palette was mustard, burgundy and green, and we used succulents and eucalyptus for the flowers and cakes for centerpieces. We had like 20 wedding cakes (each table had one) The flavors were: pistachio with honey, red velvet with sea salt caramel, coconut with “cajeta” and chocolate with Nutella.
Our special moments of the day were the ceremony, the fireworks and the carnival (it was like from the ‘90s). Our biggest surprise of the day was the ’90s show because it was a gift from our parents. Our advice to other couples is: Enjoy every second while it lasts. Try to delegate everything, for that night just make sure to have fun.
We seriously cannot get over how gorgeous (and delicious) those wedding cake centerpieces looked. Is it also acceptable to have cake centerpieces at home? The answer, obviously! While we’re on the topic of cake, these 12 cake swings are still blowing our minds.
