A Loire Valley Chateau Wedding With A Bold Red Wedding Dress

A bold red wedding dress was the centerpiece of today’s Loire Valley chateau wedding inspiration from Mailys Fortune Photography. Steeped in fresh blooms straight from a toile de jouy print, Greenwood Events styled a fairytale setting amidst robin’s egg blue pinstripes, cranberry toile and a majestic meadow glade. If you’re a lover of wedding designs inspired by interiors, haute couture fashion or 18th c French castles, you won’t want to miss this Loire Valley chateau wedding with a playfully modern twist.

From the Photographer, Mailys Fortune Photography: There’s a magical quality about the East of France and the rolling hills of Saône-et-Loire, crisscrossed by hedgerows and a sweep of glorious pastureland that make it impossible not to fall under Burgundy’s spell. So when it came to this Spring wedding inspiration at Château de Varennes hosted by Sylvie Gil, we were super excited to be working alongside Greenwood Events and her team of incredible creators.

With the 18th-century château sitting, somewhat solidly, overlooking the most spectacular orchard and woodlands, it was all about the promise and delivery of the most inclusive environment for a Spring wedding celebration, where the French joie de vivre thrives and toile de Jouy, a perennial favorite of ours, mirthfully permeates wild blue yonder pinstripes, perfectly crested paper suites, and heavenly blooms at the reception.

The ceremony was a vision of an overgrown-looking aisle as if the blooms had been there forever, and the vows were set right in the middle of a meadow that had us swooning.

Now, if you’re one dedicated pleasure-ground lover, you’ll already know that one of the region’s raison d’être and charme is wine, and there’s nothing the Burgundians love more than ending a meal with a glass of La Tâche Bourgogne Pinot Noir and a surfeit of strawberries. So we were absolutely thrilled to see how the delight made its way so thoughtfully into the fête.

With intentional regard towards what every Francophile bride will absolutely covet, the incredible Gabrielle Hurwitz styled our bride twice in head-to-toe Monique Lhuillier, first for the ceremony in a Victorian-style high-neck lace dress and then for the party in a red strapless bead-embellished tulle and organza gown right from the catwalk. As for the tree-hanging swing and geese frolicking around and channeling our inner Monet, it’s been one oh la la detail after the next!

We’d happily regale this as the prettiest Loire Valley chateau wedding in the land any day, anytime. It’s just that good! We can’t tell if it was the historic European venue, the colorful Monique Lhuillier gown or the custom toile print table runner that had us gravitating towards these images most, but honestly, we’re too captivated to care!
