Mod and Mediterranean: A Vibrant Wedding Of Mix + Match Awesome Sauce
So much to be inspired by in Claire and Scott’s vibrant wedding phtoographed by Scarlet O’Neill! Spanish, Portuguese and the Southern French influence is not hard to spot in their eclectic celebration of love, life and serious fun. We’re oh so obsessed with the handpainted ceramics, luxe boheme ceremony decor, and most of all their impeccable grand entrance. [Insert the laughing till you cry emoji here.] It won’t take you long to fall head over heels for this bold and beautiful fete!
From the bride, Claire: Mediterranean style. South of France, Spain, Portugal. Vibrant and colorful. We wanted to break the mold of having a pastel wedding – turning it on its head. Scott also has Portuguese heritage, so we wanted to honor those colors and themes. We also spend a lot of time in LA and have an affinity to Spanish-style homes, which is also where we got engaged.
3 Best Moments:
1)Entrance Dance – when we first met, we joked about emerging from a paper mache egg and doing an interpretive dance, should we ever get married. We just didn’t have the time or resources for the egg.
2)First Dance – Scott’s best man, Walker, did an exceptional rendition of Trouble by Ray LaMontagne.
3) Open Mic – We have a lot of talented friends and family and watching them get up with the band and jam out to Stevie Wonder; Third Eye Blind; Genuwine; etc, was an unforgettable element of the evening.
3 Best Wedding Details:
1) Floral arrangements: Stef from Bourbon Rose did a KILLER job assembling vibrant flowers from around the world – especially the King Protea from South Africa (somewhere we visited just before our wedding). From the bouquet to the table runners, she was top notch!
2) The ceremony details: The Persian rugs, the flowers, the mix-matched vintage chairs – it was all a dream.
3) Food trucks: We didn’t want a formal plated dinner with dry steak, so we went with The Food Dudes, Grand Electric and Me-N-U food trucks to give our guests a grand variety of flavours and items. ‘Chose your own destiny’, was the goal in mind.
