Rachel and Kevin brought their Brooklyn romance to Cincinnati. The two originally met in New York City. One morning, Kevin prepared a deluxe brunch spread in their Brooklyn home. It included bagels, lox, and all the trimmings. When Rachel asked what all the fuss was about, Kevin replied, “It’s the day I’m going to ask you to marry me!” Kevin proposed that day over bagels, and they enjoyed their first meal together as an engaged couple.

This stormy summer day at the Peterloon Estate in Cincinnati transported wedding guests to a lighter state of being, with a flurry of dynamic blooms and a ceremony rich in Jewish traditions.

Rachel and Kevin wanted the feeling for their day to feel refined with a natural ease, of which they coined the term “blooms and a breeze.” The August day brought a surprise rainstorm that changed their original plans for an outdoor ceremony. Instead, they moved the golden chuppah structure indoors, which ended up feeling warm and intimate for their Jewish ceremony. It also included an adorable procession of five flower girls with halos of greenery.

The reception created a warm glow of soft ambers, peaches, and delicate pastels. Visual airiness was reflected in the multi-colored glassware, thin taper candles, and transparent place settings. Dynamic, floral compositions made a fluttering, asymmetrical statement. Garlands of greenery were left unkempt with lush, highly textured blooms. Much of the day was inspired by moments of art nouveau and their beloved Prospect Park from their neighborhood of Brooklyn.
