An Outdoor Summer Wedding in the Woods of Wisconsin
Summer weddings and verdant greenery go hand in hand and this gorgeous outdoor wedding in Wisconsin is all of our favorite things about summer wrapped into one fantastic affair. From the Wisconsin cheese “cake” to the geometric floral chandeliers by Jane Kelly every thoughtful detail will leave you breathless as you scroll through the sun-soaked photos by M Three Studio.
From the photographer, M Three Studio: In Texas, the motto is certainly “go big”. Courtney may be from Wisconsin, but she’s found her heart in Dallas with James, and after seeing what she designed for their wedding day, it’s clear she is actually a Texan. Everything about this wedding is big – big in dreams, big in experience, big in scale, big in design, and big in joy. Courtney isn’t one to hold back when it comes to design, beauty, friendship, or love. Her late Mother inspired many of the day’s sweetest details. Creamy pastels adorned the large wedding party that included the family dogs. The bridesmaids carried giant protea blooms, a favorite of the Mother of the Bride. Courtney and her sisters raided their Mom’s jewelry collection to wear for the day and carry her with them.
No detail of this celebration was overlooked. Guests were escorted onto the estate by horse-drawn carriages and delivered to a cocktail lounge created around the pool. Trees were hung with sweet candlelit arrangements, pathways were marked by bohemian style banners, locally made bug spray sat on the bar. Cocktailing guests were abuzz over the ‘salute to Wisconsin’ cheese “cake” and the welcome boxes chock-full of local favorites. A clearspan tent, perfectly appointed by Shully’s Catering and Events with custom floral chandeliers and design by Jane Kelly floral, was straight out of Courtney’s design boards. Champagne flowed in vintage pressed green glasses, tiny ghost chairs gave away seating assignments and guests sat at long feasting tables under candlelight and delicate greenery as the summer sky turned into night overhead. Late into the night, a lakeside gazebo played host to a cigar roller and a bonfire with smores fixings waited for those weary from too much dancing.
From the florist, Kelly with Jane Kelly: Courtney and James reside in Texas and had the vision to have a summer wedding where Courtney’s roots were and in the backyard of her father’s estate in Wisconsin. Courtney wanted to achieve an open and airy feel to the reception with a floral and decor palette set in white and greenery blooms with modern geometric decor in gold. The wedding was a modern day fairytale with horse-drawn carriages adorned in flower crowns and garlands that brought guests to the reception. After cocktail hour, guests followed a path that opened up to a clear span tent that had hundreds of candles suspended by dainty greenery and stately geometric floral chandeliers overhead. They danced the night away under the stars and candlelight.
This outdoor wedding in Wisconsin has captured our hearts with its warm, sunny demeanor and contemporary geometric decor. Don’t you worry, because there’s more where that came from! Check out these modern wedding drape ideas to spark inspiration for your outdoor wedding in the woods!
