From the planner, Strawberries and Champagne: This small gem of the Middle East where sea and land meet, and East and West cultures thrive offers a variety of astonishing landscapes and monuments, modern or historical, that create the perfect locations for wedding celebrations. Along with its wide range of wedding industry professionals, Lebanon is a magnificent destination to memorialize your big day.

We decided to set it up in Lebanon and more specifically in Batroun, a coastal city in the north and one of the oldest cities in the world. Between its beaches and azure waters and its traditional and historical Lebanese architecture, the city offers a variety of picture perfect venues that would become the magical sets for the shoot.

“How about a ceremony in the middle of the sea?” is what we thought when we saw a big rock on the shores of Marea, a waterfront project of beach houses and leisure establishments. The rough greige rock connects to the sandy beach by a strip of smaller rocks and emerges from the azure sea at a point where the only thing surrounding it is water. There, a circular field of greens, local wild flowers, orange tulips and pink proteas was created around the couple to complement the beautiful scenery of blue waters and skies.

The old streets and town of Batroun created the perfect setting for the bride and groom’s photoshoot in between authentic houses, romantic street lights and historical monuments. As for the dinner table, the arches of Sayedet el Bahr were the perfect setting under which the table could be set up. Built on the ruins of a Byzantine church in the 19th century and overlooking the remains of a Phoenician sea wall, this simple church has a charming terrace with an arched belvedere framing sea views. The table was the embodiment of oriental and traditional elements designed and assembled with a modern touch.

On the round mirror top reflecting the yellow stones, heavy velvet fabrics in mustard and royal blue tones created a runner on which traditional clay jars and vintage gold vases carried a variety of local airy greens and flowers in yellow, pink, blue and beige tones. Vases and trays of dried fruits, glass blown apples and birds, concrete pomegranates, Andalusian patterned plate sets, gold cutleries and velvet printed menus added an oriental touch to the set up.
