Elegant Bahamas Beach Wedding on the Pink Sands of Harbour Island

Kimmy & Alex decided to say “I do” in the same place they first said “I love you” at Harbour Island in the Bahamas and our hearts immediately burst into a thousand pieces. Little Island Design beautifully designed a romantic tropical wedding with pops of color in the ceremony arbor and pineapples sprinkled in with the tropical greenery. With every beautiful photo from Ana Lui Photography, we are falling more and more in love with this elegant beach wedding at Harbour Island.

What year and how did you meet?
From the bride: We met in 2014 in Chicago. We were both out one night and Kimmy happened to be out with one of her girlfriends, who just so happened to be friends with Alex. We all ended up at the same place later that night, and we met and our lives changed forever.

How and when did you get engaged?
We got engaged in Maui on Labor Day Weekend 2017. We love traveling and neither of us had ever been to Hawaii, so we booked a trip to Maui and Kauai. After a day of driving the Road to Hana and exploring Maui, we were on the beach at sunset. While Kimmy was taking photos of #anothersunset, Alex knelt in the sand behind her and waited what felt like an eternity for her to turn around, and when she did, he proposed.

What made you choose your wedding location?
Alex’s family have had a house in Harbour Island for years and it has always been a very special place for the two of us. Not only is it one of, if not THE, most beautiful wonderful place on Earth, but it is also the place we first said I Love You. We’ve had so many happy memories in Harbour over the years, and when it came time to start wedding planning, it didn’t take us long to decide where we wanted to have that magical weekend surrounded by friends and family.

Why did you choose Ana Lui to capture your photos?
She has an incredible eye and a clean, almost calming, aesthetic that appealed to us both instantly. We both also loved that she shot with film AND digital. The film shots have a look that you just can’t recreate with digital.

How are we ever going to recover from such an elegant wedding on the gorgeous pink beaches of Harbour Island? I think we’ll just go an eat that donut that’s been calling our name and peruse this gorgeous setup with a donut wall!
