Stunning Copper Wedding with a Whole Lotta Edge
Get ready to rock and roll folks, because Sarah and Mike’s magnetic copper wedding is electric. Should we start with the floor to ceiling ceremony backdrop bursting with magnolia leaves, rusty hued pampass grass and suspended lightbulbs? Or should we talk about how captivated we were by the moody noir tableware contrasted with highlighted print botanics? Can.t Get. Enough of these images from our own Wedding Pro, Sara Monika, Photographer!
From the event planner, Lynzie of Love By Lynzie: Planning Sarah and Mike’s wedding was truly a dream come true. When the couple first walked into our office, I knew right away that we would click. They were stylish, down to earth and totally committed to planning an event that represented them together – a multi-faceted, interesting and exciting couple who wanted the party to be the same.
What I loved most about their approach was that they simply trusted the vendors to do their thing. They were open to new ideas and wanted us to pitch our best and most exciting options to them that would wow and pamper their guests. They were committed to a wedding with a sense of humour and playfulness. They danced down the aisle after they were married and it was the perfect example of their attitude toward life- live fully in every moment.
The colour scheme was what we are calling “The New Fall” with muted tones of rust, copper, aubergine, golds, blacks and rich browns. The decor was intended to be a mix of textures, both masculine and feminine. We included mismatched ceramics, black stemware, gold flatware, industrial chairs, rustic bistro chairs, leather signage, vintage mid century furniture, barn wood tables, florals upon dried florals upon greens and grasses.
We collaborated with a company we love called Empire City Trading Co to design their lighting installation, which was the cherry on top of the cake! Hanging lights with wicker baskets and lamp shades really made the very large room feel like you were in your living room at home.
Revealing the room to a couple is always one of my favourite things, but this time is was extra special because we had been working on this wedding and design with Sarah and Mike for a year, and every wish or idea we had came to life on that day, it was magical!
The evening was absolutely perfect, and ended with a late night Grandma’s brownie bar and stilt walkers on the dance floor. I wish we could re-live this wedding over and over again!”
